North Coast Fun Club has been running for 15 years. I have been a member since it started.
This is my second year on the Consumer Consultation Committee (CCC) for Fun Club. I was voted in by Fun Club clients at a meeting.
When I go on outings I enjoy it because I meet all my friends and go to interesting places.
Fun Club has been to Sea World, Wet n’ Wild, Movie World, Dream World, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Macadamia Castle, Brunswick Heads to the beach & picnics, Coffs Harbour Pet Porpoise Pool and Amaze n’ Place at Alstonville and many other places.
We have attended dances in Lismore and Ballina. We have been to the movies many time as a group and had lots of meals out.
It is good that people with a disability can go on outings every month.
Rhonda and all the Support Staff do a wonderful job and without them there would not be a Fun Club.
I represent the other clients on the CCC and relay information from the clients to the Committee at our regular meetings. I make suggestions about upcoming outings and talk about what I think can be improved. I also have input into decisions that are made. I enjoy this.
