Friends of Biala are the fundraising group of the organisation. The funds raised through this group support Biala Special School, Melaleuca (Respite) House and North Coast Fun Club.
Friends of Biala meet on the first Monday of each month at Biala Special School at 10.00 am
80% of monies raised in all fundraising is utilized by the school. These funds are used to purchase:
- Resources
- Equipment
- Playground equipment
- Subsidise outings
- Provide functions
- Subsidise wages of specialist staff
- Professional Student Assessment
- Building Maintenance
- Grounds Maintenance
- Bus Maintenance
- Building Maintenance
- Grounds Maintenance
- Purchase of Equipment
- Resources
- Subsidises Outings
- Subsidises staff
It is the hope of the organisation that we, along with the assistance of Tracey Everingham (Fundraiser for Variety the Children’s Charity) be able to raise enough money to purchase a new Sunshine Coach through Variety the Children’s Charity.
The bus is expected to cost approx. $160,000.00 and it is expected that we raise 50% of these funds.
Your assistance with any fundraising event will certainly help us achieve this goal for 2008.

- Selling Raffle Tickets at Farmer Charlies
- Cooking for Stalls
- Helping with BBQs
- Assisting with 2LM Children’s Christmas Appeal Activities:

- Tin Collections
- Greyhound Night
- Play Night Fundraisers
- Annual Charity Golf Day
- Other Activities as required.
We understand that parents/carers are very busy people and we certainly appreciate any effort you may be able to offer to assist.
Just an hour or two makes a BIG difference and helps provide many resources.
