Employment transition

We are passionate about building people’s capacity to realise their true potential. Biala offers a unique program to help students with disability in Year 11 and 12 to build capacity to successfully transition into life after school. Our transition pathway helps participants identify and break down the barriers to finding a job or accessing the community once school days are behind you. An assigned Support Worker works with you to improve your skills, develop work readiness and assist in finding vocational education and training, work experience, or employment opportunities post-school. This includes building transferrable skills for employment or community access, including social skills, travel training, money management and similar goals.

Daily Living

Mastering important tasks for daily living is essential for your wellbeing, independence, social interaction and self-care. Biala’s staff can work with you to develop your daily living skills so you can lead a more independent and fulfilling life. This may include supporting you with:

  • Meal preparation
  • Health and medication management
  • Personal hygiene
  • Socialising and recreation
  • Budgeting or money management
