Biala Support Services welcomes the Federal Government’s renewed focus on integrity, regulation and long‑term sustainability following the National Press Club address by Minister for Disability and the NDIS, Mark Butler.

Biala has remained a registered NDIS provider since the Scheme was established, and continues to value the role of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission in ensuring accountability through regular audits and compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards.

Registration brings with it a significant responsibility to deliver services that are safe, high quality and aligned with participant outcomes. Biala does not support fraudulent or unethical behaviour within the sector and supports increased scrutiny to protect people with disability and public confidence in the Scheme.

Biala also welcomes moves toward stronger regulation and clearer expectations across the provider market, including greater accountability for providers who are not registered and have not been subject to the same level of oversight.

CEO Lisa Smith said strong regulation is fundamental to the long‑term success of the Scheme.

“A sustainable NDIS relies on integrity, transparency and accountability. These elements protect participants and ensure the Scheme continues to deliver meaningful support to those who need it most,” Ms Smith said.

Biala looks forward to ongoing engagement as reforms progress and to a stable NDIS that supports people with disability across the lifespan.
